Flying Pole
A flying pole is a piece of artistic sports equipment used in circus performances, acrobatics, and extreme sports. It’s a tall, vertically mounted pole firmly allowing performers to climb, spin, and perform spectacular moves at high speed and with acrobatics. Unlike a static pole, a flying pole can often rotate or swing, creating dynamic effects during performances.
The pole is often equipped with special devices that allow for free rotations or swinging movements – sometimes creating a sensation of flight or weightlessness. The artists (also called „flying pole artists“) perform acrobatic tricks, somersaults, and artistic poses on the pole, often combined with dance or gymnastics elements. For more challenging performances, especially at great heights or involving fast maneuvers, additional safety devices such as ropes or harnesses are used.
The Flying Pole combines strength, agility, and creativity, allowing performers to seemingly defy gravity and deliver breathtaking, suspended acts. The result is visually spectacular shows that amaze audiences.
